THE POWDER TRIANGLE - Ski in Argentina
Che? It means "cool" in Argentina, and you'll find yourself saying it a lot while skiing and snowboarding at Cerro Catedral, Cerro Bayo, and Chapelco; or eating, wine tasting, and partying in Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes.
CASA Tours is proud to offer an 9 day tour of the Southern Argentine volcanoes, featuring amazing scenery, cuisine, culture, and some of the best skiing and snowboarding in South America. This trip starts and ends in Bariloche, where we ski and ride at Cerro Catedral, home of great tree skiing and predictably good powder conditions. We road trip north to San Martin de los Andes, soaking in amazing views while traveling through Argentina's Seven Lakes area. In San Martin, we ski / ride Chapelco, exploring off-piste terrain, then head to La Angostura to challenge ourselves in the backcountry at Cerro Bayo.
Join us for a skiing, snowboarding, and cultural road trip through a beautiful part of Patagonia, and experience the best of Argentina in true CASA Tours style.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN BARILOCHE
Your CASA Tours guide will meet you in Bariloche, Argentina. Please schedule arrivals for no later than 1:00 PM - flights connect to Bariloche from Buenos Aires and Santiago. Bariloche is incredibly scenic, surrounded by lakes and mountains, and is home to many amazing restaurants, bars, and great shopping.
Days 2-3 - SKI/RIDE CERRO CATEDRAL
We will spend our first two days at Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia. This modern ski area includes over 3,000 acres of in-bounds terrain, and offers lift-access to extensive high-quality backcountry riding. The Powder Gods often bless us with deep powder days here. In the evenings, we will take advantage of Bariloche’s great nightlife and wealth of restaurants. Argentine wine and micro-brews accompanied by local Patagonian trout, salmon, and the famous beef from the plains of Argentina will tempt your tastebuds.
Days 4-6 - SAN MARTIN - SKI/RIDE CHAPELCO
This morning we have the opportunity to hit the slopes of Cerro Catedral for a half day. In the afternoon we travel north along the Rio Limay to San Martin de los Andes to spend our next 3 nights. Situated in the center of town and a few blocks from Lacar Lake, the Caupolican is an elegant hotel with a great lounge and bar. We spend our next 2 days skiing/riding the wide-open bowls and glades and exploring the off piste terrain at Chapelco. This small Patagonian resort offers uncrowded slopes, meaning plenty of fresh tracks for all.
Days 7-8 - SKI/RIDE CERRO BAYO
Enjoy a relaxed morning in San Martin Los Andes before traveling to Villa La Angostura, a village located on the north shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Cerro Bayo is a small, ‘boutique’ ski resort offering spectacular views of the surrounding Andes and Lake Nahuel Huapi as well as superb backcountry terrain. Accessed by a short hike along the summit ridge this off-piste terrain provides ample options for the first timer or the experienced mountain tourer.
Day 9 - DEPARTURE DAY
In the morning we drive around the Lake Nahuel Huapi, returning to the airport in time for our flights home. Hasta luego!
