San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina
Truly one of the most beautiful places on earth, you will not want to leave the town of Bariloche once you go there. The town sits on the edge of the Lake Nahuel Huapi, and is surrounded by majestic peaks. The streets are filled with good restaraunts, shopping and chocolate shops!
Bariloche is the center of Argentine mountain culture with a rich history of skiing. It even has a volunteer mountain patrol and a few huts set up for backcountry travel. Cerro Catedral, the resort that serves Bariloche is a well developed resort that attacts a good number of toursits all winter long. During the summer months Bariloche is even more crowded.
Hands down, Bariloche is a not to be missed place. Great culture, great skiing, great nightlife, great town.
