The Classic Shortie - Ski Tour in Chile
Our 8 day Classic Shortie is one of our most popular and longest running itineraries, which we have been operating since 1999. We explore four resorts that include some of the best on-piste and off-piste terrain in Chile, including Valle Nevado, La Parva, El Colorado, and our personal favorite Termas de Chillan. We recommend this trip as a great introduction to skiing and snowboarding in Chile, and a great way to maximize your time on the slopes.
The Classic Shortie combines resort skiing / riding with opportunities for off-lift hiking for advanced and expert riders. If you want to ski / ride on trail in the resorts you can! If you want to challenge yourself on the big drops, deep powder, and best lines, our guides will hike you to some classic descents, like La Chimenea, Santa Teresita, Valle Pirigallo, and Valle Hermosa.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - ARRIVAL IN SANTIAGO - SKI/RIDE EL COLORADO
Arrive Santiago Int’l airport where you will be met by your CASA guides. When scheduling flights, please be sure to arrive before 10:00 AM. Transfer to HOTEL FARELLONES. We will check in right before lunch and have half the day to ski at El Colorado, a perfect first day in the Andes.
Day 2 - SKI/RIDE VALLE NEVADO/LA PARVA
After breakfast at the hotel, we take the day to explore La Parva and/or Valle Nevado. With the right weather and snow conditions, our guides will lead you to La Chimenea or Santa Teresa, some the best lift-assisted backcountry runs in the Andes. We’ll end the day with a bite to eat at our favorite restaurant in Santiago, Etniko, located in the historic neighborhood of Bellavista. After dinner, explore the nightlife in this amazing city.
Day 3 - TRAVEL TO TERMAS DE CHILLAN
On day three we journey south to the powder capital of Chile, Termas de Chillan. Along the way we’ll stop for lunch at Miguel Torres winery, where you can stock up on some “supplies” for the trip, or presents for friends / family. After a brief stop in Chillan for dinner, we’ll check in at our cabins at Cabanas Los Andes in Las Trancas.
Days 4-7 - SKI/RIDE TERMAS DE CHILLAN
For four full days we will explore the best ski resort in South America, Termas de Chillan. The resort not only offers tons of vertical terrain to explore, but it continues to be a relatively “undiscovered” paradise. We will spend our evenings at our cabins, capping our last evening with a traditional Chilean Asado, all the red meat and fine Chilean wine you can handle!
Day 8 - DEPARTURE DAY
In the morning of Day 8, we will make a last stop at the artesan market in Chillan before heading back to Santiago. We will return by 5:00 PM, so please schedule flight departures after 7:00 PM. Nos vemos!
